Community resources include tools developed outside of the CVRG that can be used by members of the cardiovascular community. These external tools have their own support channels, so questions regarding the tools must be directed to those groups.

The overall goals of The Center for Integrative Biomedical Computing (CIBC) are the creation and dissemination of biomedical technology, algorithms, and software for the mathematical modeling, simulation, and visualization of physiological phenomenon applied to problems in clinical and biological research and applications.
CRdata was conceived by Hamid Bolouri and developed by Michael Angerman and Rajiv Dulepet with code contributions by SparkTech Software, and Bioconductor contributions by Dr. Martin Morgan of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
The Physionet Project is developing improved algorithms for anayzing biomedical time-series data analysis. CVRG is deploying ECG analysis algorithms developed in the Physionet Project for use in the ECG analysis workflow. Project PI, Dr. Ary Goldberger is an advisor on ECG ontology development.
The Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring in Intensive Care (MIMIC) II Databases contain thoroughly de-identified physiologic signals and time-series captured from patient monitors, and clinical data obtained from patient records, for a large number of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. The MIMIC II Clinical Database contains clinical data from bedside workstations and hospital archives. The MIMIC II Waveform Database includes records of continuous high-resolution (125 Hz) electrocardiogram and other waveforms, along with lower resolution (1 Hz) time-series of physiologic measurements. Many of the subjects have interconnected clinical and waveform data. While both databases are available via Physionet, clinical data access requires human subjects training and a data use agreement.
The Cardiac EP Data Repository is a tool developed by the CVRG, to allow cardic electrophysiology researchers to associate EP data with peer-reviewed publications. Building upon the Entrez tool developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, the repository allows users to query Pubmed for their publications. After selecting a publication, the repository allows a user to upload data associated with the publication. At present, the repository is in alpha release, allowing for the upload of Axon Instruments and HEKA Patchmaster EP data files. Following testing by the user community, feedback will move the development path forward regarding upload of more types/formats of data.
3D Slicer is an open-source software application for 3D image visualization and computing.
An integrated image analysis software suite developed at Yale University. BioImage Suite has extensive capabilities for both neuro/cardiac and abdominal image analysis and state of the art visualization.
CIM software allows the rapid visualisation and functional analysis, in 3D space and through time, of the hundreds of cardiac MR images typically acquired per case.
CardioViz3D targets research, clinicians and industry in cardiac imaging. It is funded by the CardioSense3D project and aims at providing researchers with a set of tools for the processing, simulation and visualization of cardiac data.
ImageVis3D is a new volume rendering program developed by the NIH/NCRR Center for Integrative Biomedical Computing (CIBC). The main design goals of ImageVis3D are: simplicity, scalability, and interactivity.
The OpenClinica Data Service provides grid-enabled access to clinical data. The service uses a PostgreSQL version 8.1.11 database and a data model developed in caCORE 4.0. More information about the data service is available on the CVRG Wiki site.
QRS Score Algorithm:
The QRS Score Algorithm is a web service that implements a Java implementation of the Strauss Selvester QRS score. Details on the algorithm itself can be found in Strauss DG, et. al. (2009) J Electrocardiol. 42(1):85-96;.The service produces a comma separated value file with all the computed scar values and the overall Strauss Selvester QRS score.
SCIRun is a Problem Solving Environment (PSE), for modeling, simulation and visualization of scientific problems. SCIRun now includes the biomedical components formally released as BioPSE, as well as the Power Apps: BioTensor, BioFEM, and BioImage. PowerApps are expansion packages for SCIRun that extend its capabilities for specific applications. They are included automatically when you download SCIRun.
Seg3D is open-source segmentation and processing tool developed by the NIH Center for Integrative Biomedical Computing at the University of Utah Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute.
The Shapeworks software is an open-source tool, developed at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, for performing anatomic shape analysis, including heart and brain.
