Workflows

The University of Chicago CVRG team led by Dr. Ian Foster, Director of the Computation Institute, is using the Taverna workflow system to create a suite of CVRG data analysis workflows. The Taverna family of tools consists of the Taverna Engine, the Taverna Workbench (desktop client), and Taverna Server (remote workflow execution server) that sits on top of the Taverna Engine. This family of tools can be used to develop “workflows” that automate the process of accessing, analyzing, and storing data using multiple data and analytic services. Workflows are particularly useful for automating the execution of tasks that are performed repeatedly.

Descriptions of existing workflows can be found on the CVRG Wiki Workflows page.

A demonstration of Taverna can be found at the Taverna Project website.
